A Word About Size
Often clients ask us which size fixture they should select for
their particular use. We'd like to offer the following advice.
These recommendations are offered as a general guideline to aid
in your selection of a light fixture. However, your choice should
also be governed by the scale of the surroundings, the mood of
the setting, as well as personal preference.
When selecting a fixture the most important thing to consider
is size. A lantern or chandelier too small for its setting
will look out of place.
Do not be afraid
to choose a large fixture. While the ratio of size to surrounding
is important, determine the feel or look you desire.
Consult our "Beauty and Functionality" photo album,
our "Commercial Settings"
photo album and our "Complement your Decor" photo album.
They will help you visualize various settings.
We recommend that a wall fixture be one quarter to one third
the height of your
doorway. Chandelier width should be one foot less than the width
of the table. The height over the table
should be thirty
to thirty six inches.
Lighting is not only an important part of your decor, it is
a very functional one.
If you are debating
between two sizes
of a particular fixture, we suggest that you select the larger
size. This will assure proper illumination.
